Weekend with The Hemmingsens

We just had a great weekend with the Hemmingsens. Kurt's sister Jodi and her family came down from Iowa to visit Utah, they stopped by our house on their way home. We lived by Jodi and her family when we lived out in Iowa and our kids love them. They have a little girl Jade's age and they were best friends from the moment they could walk. It was fun for them to get together and still get along just as well.

Well Friday we got up and went hiking to Delicate Arch, (thanks to my Mom for watching Jade and Clair so we didn't have to carry them the whole way). It's pretty funny Jeff (who grew up in Iowa) has been to arches twice; while Jodi (who grew up in Utah) has never been. It was a great morning to go, it was a little over cast with a slight cool breeze.

The hike up to the arch Daxton did great, only needing to rest a couple of times with Spencer. Kate and Ellie found some great resting spots of their own.

But on the way down Daxton got blisters and decided Kurt needed to carry him the rest of the way down.

Good thing Kurt is Superman!

We got home had lunch than headed

to the Indian ladder, which was a

great success.

After wards we had dinner then Levi took us all out jeeping. He could only get a little jeep instead of a Hummer so we could only go three at a time, but it was still great fun.

Daxton got to go for the first time and he loved it. Especially when Levi would go fast on the sand parts, he was laughing so hard, it was hilarious.

Then Saturday morning Kurt threw a Farm Bureau Insurance Pool Party, with ice cream afterwards.

Obviously a big success!!

Than after the pool party Jeff and Jodi had to head back to Iowa, it was such a short visit but it was a lot of fun!
